About Carrie

Carrie Adams is an actor and writer originally from Maine. She holds a dual degree in theatre arts and comparative literature from Brown University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the theater department’s Minnie Helen Hicks Award for Elocution. She also studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Since graduating from Brown, Carrie has lived and worked in Los Angeles, New York City, and New England. When she’s not acting or writing, Carrie is probably hiking up, camping on, or skiing down a mountain somewhere. 

 
 
 
 

Recent Projects

In “Composure,” an artistically unsatisfied engagement photographer connects with a young woman whose fiancé does not show up to their scheduled photo shoot. Carrie co-wrote this project with Grant Raun, who directed. The short was filmed in Brooklyn in October 2023 and expected to hit the festival circuit in 2024.

“High Noon,” filmed in Los Angeles in the spring of 2023, is about a young woman in the 24 hours before her long pre-arranged plan to meet up with her ex. Nobody thinks it’s a good idea, but Jess has some choice words planned and a plant to return. Carrie co-wrote the film with Grant Raun, who directed. High Noon is not available publicly due to pending festival submissions, but please reach out if you’d like a screener.

Written and directed by Matt Johnson, “Holdfast” tells the story of an isolated oceanographer dealing with climate grief while struggling to reconnect with her work and surroundings. Filmed on location in The Channel Islands, the film is in post-production and is anticipated to be on the festival circuit this spring.
