About Carrie
Carrie Adams is an actor and writer originally from Maine. She holds a dual degree in theatre arts and comparative literature from Brown University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the theater department’s Minnie Helen Hicks Award for Elocution. She also studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Her short film High Noon, which she co-wrote and starred in, has played at LGBTQ+ film festivals in Europe and South America as well as the Oscars-qualifying Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Since graduating from Brown, Carrie has lived and worked in Los Angeles, New York City, and New England. When she’s not acting or writing, Carrie is probably hiking up, camping on, or skiing down a mountain somewhere.
Recent Projects
In “Composure,” an artistically unsatisfied engagement photographer connects with a young woman whose fiancé does not show up to their scheduled photo shoot. Carrie co-wrote this project with Grant Raun, who directed. The short was filmed in Brooklyn and expected to hit the festival circuit in late 2024.
“High Noon” is about a young woman in the 24 hours before her long pre-arranged plan to meet up with her ex. Nobody thinks it’s a good idea, but Jess has some choice words planned and a plant to return. Carrie co-wrote the film with Grant Raun, who directed. High Noon had its world premiere at Lovers Film Festival, Europe’s oldest LGBTQ+ film festival. It will have its US premiere at the Oscars-qualifying Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival. Written and directed by Matt Johnson, “Holdfast” tells the story of an isolated oceanographer dealing with climate grief while struggling to reconnect with her work and surroundings. Filmed on location in The Channel Islands, the film is in post-production and is anticipated to be on the festival circuit soon.
