I’m also a writer. These are some of my projects.

p.s. This section of my website is written in the first person because it felt too trippy weird impersonal to write about my own writing in the third person.

Baby Sister

Logline

(A feature film)

When a queer woman is asked to be her older sister’s egg donor, she has to decide what we owe to family and how we construct the next generation.

I wrote Baby Sister with my writing partner, Grant Raun. This is a picture of us on day one of outlining the project, wearing our writing hats as a promise to stop messing around. Grant lives in LA and I live in New York, so we wrote the entire movie on Google Meet.

We are really proud of Baby Sister and eager to share and make it. If you’d like to see our pitch deck or read the script, please reach out.

The Carrie Grant Trilogy

The Story

In January 2023, I flew to LA to act in a short film my friend Grant had written for me. We filmed The Young Divorcée in two days with a crew of 3: actor (me), director (Grant), and cinematographer.

We enjoyed the shoot so much that we decided to make another short, which I co-wrote. High Noon was, as I like to call it, the First Idea I Ever Had. We pulled off another 2 day shoot with a 3 person crew in April 2023.

Good things come in threes, so we wrote a third short, Composure, and shot it in October 2023. Without meaning to, we made three short films in one year, two of which I co-wrote. This is the Carrie Grant Trilogy.

  • Carrie Adams Actor

    The Young Divorcée

Stacy needs to sign her divorce papers. Today, probably, or she’s gonna get in trouble. She tries to find a moment of empowerment to do so.

I didn’t write this one, but I did act in and produce it.

  • High Noon

Jess and her ex agreed to meet up 6 months after their breakup to get final closure on their relationship. The film follows the 24 hours leading up to this conversation.

High Noon has screened at LGBTQ+ festivals in Europe, South America, and the Oscars-qualifying Rhode Island Flickers International Film Fest.

  • Composure

Lonely engagement photographer Nell’s routine is shaken up when a bride-to-be’s fiancé doesn’t show up to their scheduled engagement shoot.

Composure is currently on the festival circuit. Announcements coming soon!
